This course comprises of three units:
  • Unit 1 – Investigate sources of ideas in art & design
  • Unit 2 – Explore and develop art and design ideas creatively
  • Unit 3 – Create, present and review final art and design item(s)
Throughout this course you will explore a range of traditional techniques including various washes, glazes, resists, oil painting and more, and learn how to make the techniques part of your individual style.
This qualification is suitable for:
  • Learners studying in preparation for employment in Art and Design or the creative industry
  • Those wishing to gain a Level 1 qualification to support further study in Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) in Art and Design
  • Learners who wish to develop a portfolio of artwork, sculptures and design ideas.
Entry requirements:
  • There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications. The courses are open to anybody with an interest in working with 2D media, from complete beginners to the more advanced learners who want to improve their skills further. You will be given simple demonstrations supported with handouts. No interview is needed to access these courses.
Assessment
  • All work is internally and externally assessed.
