Rosetta Art Centre were delighted to have the opportunity to work with Plaistow South Big Local, to deliver a programme which aimed to provide children from both Kaizen and Tollgate Primary Schools with an opportunity to engage in creative thinking and practical experiment.
Kikis Leventis, a local artist and Pauliina Pollanen, a Finnish ceramicist and former artist in residence at the V&A, led the programme. Children were encouraged to discuss their ideas with each other and visualise their ‘Greenway’ by sketching their initial ideas on paper to help develop themes. Which then led to the creation of a collaborative large-scale multi-dimensional model, inspired by the nearby Greenway. The project culminated with a ceremony, where the young participants and their families could come and see the finished project, and celebrate their achievements.
